OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc. is a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing information costs. Tens of thousands of libraries around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials. We are seeking candidates for a Software Engineer at our Corporate Headquarters located in Dublin, Ohio.
The person in this position will perform analysis and design of software programs and systems. Will create, analyze, design, modify and test programs and systems.
Responsibilities:
Uses industry standard programming techniques to translate requirements and design into code.
Provide technical support to members of the team
Participate in system design of functional requirements
Assists in developing and interpreting requirements
Build scripts to test functionality before releasing the code to development groups
Supports existing code base as functionality is implemented
Create test plans and scenarios for testing code changes.
Qualifications:
Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science related discipline and 2-4 years development experience
Knowledge of Oracle 10g, PL/SQL and SQLLDR
OLAP technologies
Experience with the Java programming language
Experience with the UNIX and LINUX operating system
Understand the controlling of source code using packaged software
Good communication skills. The position will require interfacing with multiple development teams.
Ability to work in an independent setting with minimal direction at times.
Knowledge of Oracle 10g Job Scheduler, Oracle Text, HyperRoll and web services is desirable.
